Homegrown Co-op grew in leaps and bounds in 2011, to provide our community with more *convenient* access to local food. This was not without its risks and we are COUNTING on increasing our membership by 300 new members in order to continue our Farm Store operations into 2012. In fact, with the economic downturn and the pressure to meet our increasing expenses as we bring new service to you, it is ESSENTIAL that we make this goal if we are to succeed and continue into the next year. Then we need YOUR help! If just HALF of our current membership buys ONE gift membership or refers ONE friend to become a member during December, we will easily meet our goal!

HOW YOUR MEMBERSHIP HELPS

Your membership gift, referral, or personal registration will enable us not just to continue our current operations into the coming year, but we'll use the energy and resources we cultivate in December to ensure we grow even better to meet Central Florida's needs.

+ Currently, we offer a limited selection of produce, eggs, meat, and dairy at the store – all items requiring expensive refrigeration.
----> If we meet our Membership Goal this December, we will add new coolers to our storefront in early 2012, allowing for a full selection of dairy and more local farm products – creating easier access to good foods for all of Central Florida, and creating more jobs and more support for local farms.

+ Currently, our Farm Store is open 5 days per week – Wednesday through Sunday.
----> If we meet our Membership Goal this December, we will be able to open our Farm Store 7 days a week in early 2012.

+ Currently, we have completed only two of our five phases of Development at our Orange Avenue facility.

----> If we meet our Membership Goal this December, we can enter 2012 in the black and put our focus on launching our Member Loan Campaign to enter Phase 3 - Completion of our Retail Storefront. This completion will mean more products, more farms supported, more money into the local food economy, and more convenience and access for YOU.
